Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Dragana, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Hector Dragana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Dragana, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After 44 played minutes U21 Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Xandão Crouch. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

U21 Brazil's André Luís Zanette was substituted for Xandão Crouch. U21 Brazil's Eriberto Lucas was substituted for André Piø. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hector Dragana was the one to do the kick off. U21 Ecuador's Roris Taramona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Zanette in the 63rd minute of play. After 65 played minutes U21 Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Omar Oruña. Mário Lendaa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roris Taramona. U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Oruña, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Omar Oruña took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norberto Heerdt. Norberto Heerdt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. U21 Ecuador made a substitution. Bean Blue replaced Danny Morea. When Marlon Blue fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Ecuador's protests and gave Marlon Blue a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Ecuador's Marlon Blue got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Roris Taramona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Zanette in the 85th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match, Omar Oruña tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Norberto Heerdt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 91st match minute, U21 Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Blue to maneuver through the defense. After 92 played minutes, U21 Brazil's Cai Otto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roris Taramona came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Brazil reached it. In the 95th minute, Anastasio Caicedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the game, Anastasio Caicedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Brazil the free kick. In the 97th minute, Anastasio Caicedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
