Seating: 2371, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Alejo Veliz made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of U21 Dominican Republic booed when U21 Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Laffitte didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Dominican Republic's Jenaro Coronel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Dominican Republic from getting a goal against them. 6 minutes into the game, Guaberto Valiente lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jenaro Coronel. Marco van Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Jenaro Coronel made a huge save. Marco van Basten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adán Larroca kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. U21 Argentina's Marco van Basten shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 19th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jenaro Coronel but with some difficulty. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jenaro Coronel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Valiente. After 29 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Octavio Bianchi made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jenaro Coronel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jenaro Coronel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Valiente, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Octavio Bianchi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jenaro Coronel was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guaberto Valiente to make the kick off. When Ángel Cristos fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Argentina's protests and gave Ángel Cristos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 Argentina getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ángel Cristos hit a great ball. After some careless play in the U21 Dominican Republic defense, Marco van Basten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jenaro Coronel. The U21 Dominican Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jenaro Coronel should have stopped the shot. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Eusebio Cordarius replaced Cipriano Laffitte. After a rather tough play, U21 Dominican Republic's Alejo Veliz got a free kick in the 61st minute. Jenaro Coronel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco van Basten in the 68th minute of the match. U21 Dominican Republic's Jenaro Coronel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco van Basten in the 70th minute of play. Virgilio Lawrence took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jenaro Coronel. Jenaro Coronel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 75 minutes into the game, Virgilio Lawrence was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Argentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Dominican Republic the free kick. Miguel Ángel Seijas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Sebastián Junes made a huge save. 80 minutes into the game, Marco van Basten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Jenaro Coronel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 83rdth minute of the game Virgilio Lawrence who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Dominican Republic's Jenaro Coronel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marco van Basten scored 12-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jenaro Coronel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Dominican Republic's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marco van Basten was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Argentina's players had a chance to rest. The corner led U21 Argentina's Eusebio Cordarius to fire away a dangerous shot which Jenaro Coronel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, U21 Dominican Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Lawrence came free, but Jenaro Coronel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. U21 Argentina had played much better football throughout.
