Carlos Enrique made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 Brazil's Cai Otto. In the 24th minute, one of U21 Bolivia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Bolivia. 28 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Abarca came free, but Norberto Heerdt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Abarca, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Bolivia's Abraham Cabrera got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Cai Otto struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Gonzalo Berdugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Brazil. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gonzalo Berdugo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Lucas in the 55th minute of the match. After having played for 58 minutes, André Luís Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Brazil's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luís Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Bolivia's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, U21 Bolivia's Carlos Enrique got a free kick in the 63rd minute. André Luís Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U21 Bolivia's Itzaina Abastas was substituted for Manu Abajas. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, André Luís Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Brazil's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luís Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Norberto Heerdt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Brazil eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
