In the 15th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amaury Van den Berge to maneuver through the defense. Argoitz Abeijon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harold Meys. U21 Belgium's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Dominick Antheunis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. U21 Bolivia's Gonzalo Berdugo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Bolivia from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd match minute, U21 Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manu Abajas to maneuver through the defense. Gonzalo Berdugo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dominick Antheunis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. After 33 played minutes U21 Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Amaury Van den Berge. In the 34th minute of the match Eduardo Angulo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harold Meys showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee ignored U21 Bolivia's protests and gave Dagoberto Abarca a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of U21 Belgium booed when U21 Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Abarca didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Dominick Antheunis made the kick off in the second half. Florian De Werdt scored 3-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonzalo Berdugo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gonzalo Berdugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amaury Van den Berge in the 60th minute of play. U21 Belgium's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Dagoberto Abarca scored to the left of an out of position Harold Meys, making the score, 3-2. U21 Belgium's Leopold Asselberghs was substituted for Dominick Antheunis. U21 Bolivia made a substitution. Michel Abadie replaced Zachary Flores. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopold Asselberghs in the 72nd minute of play forced U21 Bolivia's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Uxio Abello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The U21 Belgium players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
