Norberto Heerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobald Hodas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Xandão Crouch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Peter-Michael Schmeichel made a huge save. Xandão Crouch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Peter-Michael Schmeichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iwan Karanowski made a kick off. After 54 played minutes U21 Poland got a freekick which was hit by Eugeniusz Tomporowski. 56 minutes into the match, Dominik Zawacki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Norberto Heerdt, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominik Zawacki in the 58th minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Norberto Heerdt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Brazil were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after U21 Poland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cai Otto took the corner. After taking down the ball on U21 Brazil's corner Cai Otto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Peter-Michael Schmeichel quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Eriberto Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Brazil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute André Luís Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter-Michael Schmeichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobald Hodas in the 89th minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Norberto Heerdt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes U21 Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Scott Travis. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dominik Zawacki hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes, U21 Brazil's Alberto Nóbrega shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Peter-Michael Schmeichel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Brazil reached it. 96 minutes into the match, Teobald Hodas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norberto Heerdt. U21 Brazil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teobald Hodas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The U21 Poland players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
