Hungary's Tibor Nyilasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davide Di Mascio in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hungary's goalkeeper Tibor Nyilasi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tibor Nyilasi came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Davide Di Mascio. But to his dismay, Davide Di Mascio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Davide Di Mascio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tibor Nyilasi. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tibor Nyilasi should have stopped the shot. Don Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tibor Nyilasi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Davide Di Mascio's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Gregorio Montez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Davide Di Mascio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tibor Nyilasi. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tibor Nyilasi should have stopped the shot. Anthony Pozzoli hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

Tibor Nyilasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davide Di Mascio in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Italy's Davide Di Mascio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tibor Nyilasi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. A sloppy throw-in by Christian Cinque in the 59th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Hungary's Gáspár Rigó. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Di Mascio in the 63rd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Tibor Nyilasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Gregorio Montez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Italy's Fortunato Froněk was substituted for Eugenio Cherubini. After 67 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Montez. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filippo Perna got free with Tibor Nyilasi in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Hungary's Tibor Nyilasi got control of the ball when Alexander Buonanno tried to sneak it across the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Filippo Perna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tibor Nyilasi. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filippo Perna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippo Perna in the 76th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Tibor Nyilasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filippo Perna had several of the Hungary's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 83 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Tibor Nyilasi as he didn't even see the shot coming. Italy's Filippo Perna got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 90th minute of the game. One of Hungary:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Italy:s goal. Fedele Savoia hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Italy's Filippo Perna was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 98th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match was over Italy could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hungary throughout the match.
