Karl Jemella breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stanislas Le Duigou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Demski in the 29th minute of the match. Adrian Meinhardt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislas Le Duigou having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Stanislas Le Duigou dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After 92 played minutes U21 Austria got a freekick which was hit by Nico-Pascal Divis. In the 98th match minute, U21 France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Marc Hidalgo to maneuver through the defense. Stanislas Le Duigou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nico-Pascal Divis in the 100th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
