Seating: 2372, VIP seats: 206) After a rather tough play, U21 Switzerland's Roman Scheupach got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Hirving Lozano came free, but Cristian Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match U21 Brazil got a corner. U21 Switzerland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dagoberto Pitta ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 21st minute, Renan do Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christophe Troxler was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 24 minutes of play, U21 Brazil's Renan do Valle made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christophe Troxler was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, Giovanni Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th match minute, U21 Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hirving Lozano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hirving Lozano in the 33rd minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Cristian Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Brazil's Cris Fenomeno was substituted for Kacesvara Haagenstjerne. After a rather tough play, U21 Switzerland's Zoltan Strickler got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cristian Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hirving Lozano, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The throw-in from Faouzi Ghoulam in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Brazil's Dagoberto Pitta. The supporters of U21 Switzerland booed when U21 Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Carol Rothschild shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristian Salles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto Pitta during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th match minute, U21 Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Renan do Valle to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, U21 Switzerland's Roman Scheupach nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristian Salles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Cristian Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hirving Lozano, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. U21 Switzerland made a substitution. Nicholas Tanguay replaced Dany Schweitzer. Cris Fenomeno kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Roman Scheupach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Switzerland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Scheupach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute of the match U21 Brazil got a corner. U21 Switzerland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dagoberto Pitta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Christophe Troxler was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roberto Boninsegna showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 80 minute of play. Roberto Boninsegna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. U21 Switzerland's Paul Parolini was substituted for Carol Rothschild. After some careless play in the U21 Brazil defense, Pascal Gauch kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristian Salles. The U21 Brazil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristian Salles should have stopped the shot. Cristian Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurenzo Stante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to U21 Brazil getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dagoberto Pitta hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute Laurenzo Stante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
