After a rather tough play, U21 Estonia's Jack Madison got a free kick in the 24th minute. Saulvedis Šūpelis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benedikts Vitomskis came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Estonia's Marti Uudevald. But to his dismay, Marti Uudevald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. U21 Estonia's Ander Lokko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arkādijs Vietnieks in the 30th minute of play. Ander Lokko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Māris Valtenbergs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sepo Kroonpea got free with Benedikts Vitomskis in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Māris Valtenbergs scored 1-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ander Lokko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 44th play minutes Ander Uibomäe shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Benedikts Vitomskis and just under the crossbar into goal. Ričards Tālums hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arkādijs Vietnieks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eevald Jaanus in the 73rd minute of play forced U21 Latvia's goalkeeper Benedikts Vitomskis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, U21 Latvia's goal looked a bit too open when Eevald Jaanus came free, but Benedikts Vitomskis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sepo Kroonpea in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedikts Vitomskis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The U21 Estonia fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when U21 Estonia's Sepo Kroonpea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 80th minute Sepo Kroonpea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedikts Vitomskis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute Eevald Jaanus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedikts Vitomskis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Estonia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Latvia for a fine match.
