Eladio Aliste's late challenge caught a U21 Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eladio Aliste helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eladio Aliste to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, U21 Chile's Epifanío Minden got control of the ball when Waud Soetemans tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vinicio Arroyo to strike the kick off in the second half. U21 Belgium's Kobe De Munck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Arroyo in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, U21 Belgium's Waud Soetemans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Epifanío Minden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Donato Cristofanini kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Julián Swinburn hit a great ball. Epifanío Minden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rudy Sempels went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 80 minutes into the match, Jim Vissenaeken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Epifanío Minden. U21 Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jim Vissenaeken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. U21 Chile were furious when Balendín Estay was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave U21 Belgium a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rudy Sempels, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Chile's Epifanío Minden. 3-2. In the 94th minute, Eladio Aliste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Belgium had won after a very even match.
