Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vidar Malmström got the match started through his kick off. U21 Sweden were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after U21 Bulgaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oscar Bruse took the corner. The corner ended in Oscar Bruse almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Bulgaria's Bozhil Gavazki did a great save. Bozhil Gavazki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Gascoigne in the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's Vidar Malmström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bozhil Gavazki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henric Gadd made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Iliyan Planinski sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute Ronaldinho Gascoigne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bozhil Gavazki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bozhil Gavazki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vidar Malmström in the 22nd minute of play. U21 Sweden's Henric Gadd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Sweden from getting a goal against them. 28 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Gascoigne notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of U21 Bulgaria's Bozhil Gavazki. Bozhil Gavazki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tzonko Gogov during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Ronaldinho Gascoigne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 41st minute Ronaldinho Gascoigne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bozhil Gavazki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of U21 Bulgaria:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Sweden:s goal. Henric Gadd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Penko Kúrchev in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iliyan Planinski in the 70th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Henric Gadd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henric Gadd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iliyan Planinski in the 71st minute of the match. Henric Gadd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlin Peykovski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lars Enikov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bozhil Gavazki was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. The corner led U21 Sweden's Gerardus Meulmann to fire away a dangerous shot which Bozhil Gavazki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 86th minute Lars Enikov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bozhil Gavazki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henric Gadd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iliyan Planinski in the 89th minute of the match. Penko Kúrchev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henric Gadd having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, U21 Bulgaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marko Krumov to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Lars Enikov took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Bozhil Gavazki to make any attempt to save it.
