Spectators: 10306 (Terracing: 7730, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) 3 minutes into the match, Northern Ireland's Kenneth Devine sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Huly Abendano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Kenneth Devine ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Huly Abendano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Kenneth Devine took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Huly Abendano. Huly Abendano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Damian Ellerton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Abar in the 23rd minute of the match. Kenneth Devine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 26 minutes of play, Bolivia's Alfonso Abeijon made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damian Ellerton was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Hamilton Tanner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otoniel Abascal in the 33rd minute of play forced Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Damian Ellerton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenneth Devine in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Huly Abendano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Damian Ellerton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute of the match Bolivia got a corner. Northern Ireland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paulo Abar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Paulo Abar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Northern Ireland's Damian Ellerton did a great save. In the 46th minute, Otoniel Abascal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bolivia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Hamilton Tanner made the kick off in the second half. Kenneth Devine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenneth Devine in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Huly Abendano saved Bolivia from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Kenneth Devine reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Huly Abendano. The goal made the score 2-3. Damian Ellerton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Abar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Hamilton Tanner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huly Abendano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paulo Abar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Northern Ireland made a substitution. Danny Glasby replaced Hamilton Tanner. In the 74th minute Paulo Abar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Ellerton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Abeijon took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Damian Ellerton. Damian Ellerton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Bolivia made a substitution. Stanislao Abascal replaced Silvino Abarca. Northern Ireland made a substitution. Vance Crossman replaced Kenneth Devine. Danny Glasby struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Huly Abendano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Northern Ireland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Abar in the 81st minute of play forced Northern Ireland's goalkeeper Damian Ellerton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otoniel Abascal scored 4-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Ellerton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute, Mick Waite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the game, Bolivia's Alfonso Abeijon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Ellerton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. There was no doubt that Bolivia were the better team. Bolivia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
