With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Gauger in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iakobos Liachames saved U21 Cyprus from getting behind. After 97 minutes U21 Cyprus's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michael Flemming who took care of the corner kick. U21 Germany's Michael Flemming was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Iakobos Liachames in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
