Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Miloslav Klose started the match with the kick off. Bautista Riba kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Aznaro Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmine Barone in the 10th minute of the match. Fabio Quadrini hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miloslav Klose in the 12th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Donato Bucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elia Burelli in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Aznaro Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Alfredo Bani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aznaro Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aznaro Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmine Barone in the 19th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Carmine Barone left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bianco Fagnani in the 25th minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Aznaro Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aznaro Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Barone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donato Bucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miloslav Klose in the 35th minute of play. Dave Arioli kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miloslav Klose got free with Donato Bucci in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 46 minutes, Alfredo Bani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Bani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Carlo Furino made the kick off in the second half. U21 Italy's Donato Bucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miloslav Klose in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, U21 Spain's Miloslav Klose sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donato Bucci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Miloslav Klose came free, but Donato Bucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Spain's Raymond Serra was substituted for Raúl González. U21 Spain made a substitution. Davide Beckham replaced Rolando Solo. In the 67th minute, Dave Arioli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, Chap Cabrera notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of U21 Italy's Donato Bucci. Donato Bucci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 75th minute Alfredo Bani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aznaro Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Bani in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aznaro Marquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute of the match U21 Italy got a corner. U21 Spain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christian Fanfarone ran over to the corner to take the kick. U21 Italy's Carmine Barone was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aznaro Marquez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. U21 Spain's Aznaro Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Spain from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 81 in the game by Elia Burelli from a close distance when the talented Aznaro Marquez managed to make a qualified save. U21 Spain's players were relieved. U21 Italy's Carlo Furino saw an opening behind the goalie Aznaro Marquez in the 85thth minute and tried to shoot past into the top right corner, but with great reflexes Aznaro Marquez with one arm managed to save the shot in the last secound. In the 87th minute, Raymond Serra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Bucci was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Aznaro Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Barone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, U21 Spain's Aznaro Marquez got control of the ball when Elia Burelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aznaro Marquez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlo Furino in the 97th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. U21 Spain were victorious despite being under pressure from U21 Italy for much of the match.
