The Emanuel Crețulescu was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Fletcher came free, but Emanuel Crețulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jude Redwood-Turner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Răzvan Baldu, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. England's Jude Redwood-Turner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dumitru Torouţ in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, England's Jude Redwood-Turner got control of the ball when Dumitru Torouţ tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dumitru Torouţ got free with Jude Redwood-Turner in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emanuel Crețulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basil Riley in the 18th minute of play. Jude Redwood-Turner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Bălăiță in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match England got a corner. Romania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Basil Riley ran over to the corner to take the kick. 23 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Reggie Coleman came free, but Emanuel Crețulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Denis Calota recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jude Redwood-Turner. Denis Calota showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Emanuel Crețulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Fitzgerald, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jude Redwood-Turner was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dumitru Torouţ showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 30 minute of play. Denis Calota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jude Redwood-Turner made a huge save. Romania's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dumitru Torouţ in the 33rd minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Basarab Răduț advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-1 in the 34th minute. Emanuel Crețulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Fitzgerald in the 47th minute of play. After a rather tough play, England's Basil Riley got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dumitru Torouţ to make the kick off. England's Jude Redwood-Turner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Răzvan Baldu in the 57th minute of play. Jude Redwood-Turner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Baldu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st match minute, Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dumitru Torouţ to maneuver through the defense. Emanuel Crețulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basil Riley in the 64th minute of play. Romania made a substitution. Ovidiu Ţintea replaced Răzvan Baldu. Jude Redwood-Turner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Dobay, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 93rd minute, Basil Riley sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Romania's Emanuel Crețulescu didn't even have to move. 97 minutes into the match, Ovidiu Ţintea notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of England's Jude Redwood-Turner. Jude Redwood-Turner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. England's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
