Oliver Atom made the kick off and thus started the match. When U21 Colombia's Oliver Atom in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Austria's goalie prevented a goal. Sixto Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Krome, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. U21 Austria's Björn Vanek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Atom in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Mirko Schütterle sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Sixto Galindo threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Mirko Schütterle this time. With a little luck, U21 Colombia's Sixto Galindo got control of the ball when Tony Juniel tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Colombia's Sixto Galindo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Colombia from getting a goal against them. After 25 minutes, Oliver Atom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Colombia and the U21 Austria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, U21 Colombia's Oliver Atom got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 32nd minute, U21 Austria's Michael-Jan Brandt seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Michael-Jan Brandt the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Austria protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Michael-Jan Brandt had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 32nd match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael-Jan Brandt to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute Ximenez Rolan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Vanek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, U21 Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonchan Bien to maneuver through the defense. Rüdiger Seiler hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Atom in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Björn Vanek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the game, U21 Colombia's Oliver Atom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Björn Vanek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of U21 Colombia booed when U21 Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Krome didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rüdiger Seiler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Rüdiger Seiler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Galindo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 played minutes U21 Austria got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Förster. The long shot by Ximenez Rolan in the 54th minute really tested Björn Vanek's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Björn Vanek came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Colombia's Oliver Atom. But to his dismay, Oliver Atom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Björn Vanek made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Oliver Atom sent off a good shot on target. After 62 played minutes U21 Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Israel Ballejos. U21 Austria's Björn Vanek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurin Parraga in the 64th minute of play. After 66 minutes, Oliver Atom made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Austria's Björn Vanek tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sixto Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirko Schütterle in the 70th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oriche Cavada during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of U21 Austria booed when U21 Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oriche Cavada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ximenez Rolan charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ximenez Rolan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to U21 Colombia getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ximenez Rolan hit a great ball. Sixto Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirko Schütterle in the 72nd minute of play. Michael Friesen scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Galindo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 78 minutes into the match, U21 Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Rüdiger Seiler came free, but Sixto Galindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oliver Atom's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Björn Vanek skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. U21 Austria's Björn Vanek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cebo Trespalacios in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirko Schütterle in the 85th minute of play forced U21 Colombia's goalkeeper Sixto Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Michael Friesen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sixto Galindo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. The U21 Austria supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Colombia.
