When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gheorghe Hagi made a kick off. Charles Leclerc went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Romania's Charles Leclerc to fire away a dangerous shot which Daniele Cagnetta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 75th minute Edmondo Toto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Aliuta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 79 minutes, Ilie Furdui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilie Furdui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicodim Mitruț kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match.
