The supporters of U21 Iceland booed when U21 Trinidad & Tobago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Ayoung-Chee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Adólf Hálfdánsson sent off a good shot on target. Aðalbergur Styrmisson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamal Vidale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Adólf Hálfdánsson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dwight Eversley Bissambhar to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Krishna Webber in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aðalbergur Styrmisson saved U21 Iceland from getting behind. In the 37th match minute, U21 Trinidad & Tobago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronald Sitahal to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th match minute, U21 Trinidad & Tobago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kennedy Mathur to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Adólf Hálfdánsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Iceland's supporters rose to their feet, but Adólf Hálfdánsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adólf Hálfdánsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, one of U21 Trinidad & Tobago:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Dwight Eversley Bissambhar, was totally fooled by U21 Iceland's Adólf Hálfdánsson, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.

Dwight Eversley Bissambhar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guðbjarni Línbergsson's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Aðalbergur Styrmisson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krishna Webber in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th match minute, U21 Trinidad & Tobago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Ayoung-Chee to maneuver through the defense. After 61 played minutes U21 Trinidad & Tobago got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Ayoung-Chee. Rafnar Knútsson's late challenge caught a U21 Trinidad & Tobago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafnar Knútsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th minute, Krishna Webber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 66th minute of the match Rafnar Knútsson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rafnar Knútsson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Rafnar Knútsson hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Ráðvarður Guðjónsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Ayoung-Chee hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Guðbjarni Línbergsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Iceland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guðbjarni Línbergsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th match minute, U21 Iceland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valgeir Álfgrímsson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Iceland's zone, Krishna Webber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aðalbergur Styrmisson came out of the goal and Krishna Webber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Iceland's Guðbjarni Línbergsson got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Krishna Webber fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Trinidad & Tobago's protests and gave Krishna Webber a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes U21 Trinidad & Tobago got a freekick which was hit by Krishna Webber. In the 86th minute, Andre Hamilton-Maurice hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guðbjarni Línbergsson in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dwight Eversley Bissambhar saved U21 Trinidad & Tobago from getting behind. Guðbjarni Línbergsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dwight Eversley Bissambhar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guðbjarni Línbergsson's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Iceland fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Trinidad & Tobago had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
