Emilio Belarmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Vela in the 3rd minute of play. Leon Savier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Alberto Gergori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leo Orlondo's late challenge caught a U21 Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Orlondo helped the player get up and apologised. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fidel Enol during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Fidel Enol got a free kick in the 13th minute. Alberto Gergori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Savier in the 13th minute of play. Mauricio Bela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Horacio Luzaide took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Gergori. Alberto Gergori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, U21 Argentina's Emilio Belarmo got control of the ball when Carlos Vela tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leon Savier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leon Savier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to U21 Argentina getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Horacio Luzaide hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Emilio Belarmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Bela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 52 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Bela came free, but Emilio Belarmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Mexico's Alberto Gergori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Mexico from getting a goal against them. Alberto Gergori was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leon Savier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 55 minute of play. In the 70th minute Carlos Vela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Belarmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Mexico's Daniel Paz was substituted for Mariano Murillo. U21 Mexico's Miguel Nastasio was substituted for Vic Castel. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Cristian Cebollero replaced Horacio Luzaide. Basilio Dalmu kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Alberto Gergori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Cebollero in the 77th minute of play. In the 77th match minute, U21 Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Flück to maneuver through the defense. Emilio Belarmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Mena in the 79th minute of play. The corner led to U21 Mexico's Daniel Paz getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Enol in the 85th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Emilio Belarmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When U21 Mexico's Daniel Paz in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Argentina's goalie prevented a goal. Emilio Belarmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Vela, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Ruben Francesco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Francesco struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Alberto Gergori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Argentina. The U21 Mexico supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Argentina's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Argentina.
