Egypt's Abdel Haleem Ashraf tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the game, Aebeed Reda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Aleksey Homich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Egypt's Abdel Haleem Ashraf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Dzhevetskiy in the 23rd minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Egypt's Hanafy Abu Bakr tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Russia's Aleksey Homich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gameel Shams in the 34th minute of play. Abdel Haleem Ashraf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavel Chernov in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Russia's goalkeeper Aleksey Homich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th match minute, Russia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egor Simonov to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gleb Bugaenkov got free with Abdel Haleem Ashraf in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Egypt's Aebeed Reda got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Russia's Maksim Fedaev was substituted for Dragan Bošnjak.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gameel Shams to make the kick off. Abdel Haleem Ashraf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gleb Bugaenkov in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Pavel Chernov made a precise shot to the right of Abdel Haleem Ashraf. Egypt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. In the 58th minute Pavel Chernov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdel Haleem Ashraf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Egypt's goal looked a bit too open when Gleb Bugaenkov came free, but Abdel Haleem Ashraf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Russia's Aleksey Homich got control of the ball when Aaser Yassine tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Aebeed Reda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aleksey Homich. That made the score 4-3 in the 64 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Egypt's zone, Egor Simonov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdel Haleem Ashraf came out of the goal and Egor Simonov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Egypt's Aleksey Homich threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gameel Shams, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Russia's Aleksey Homich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakeem Ramadan in the 70th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Egypt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aebeed Reda to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes, Egypt's Hanafy Abu Bakr shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aleksey Homich came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Egypt reached it. 85 minutes into the game, Gleb Bugaenkov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-3. Abdel Haleem Ashraf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89th play minutes Egor Simonov shot 7-3, a short shot which went by Abdel Haleem Ashraf and just under the crossbar into goal. 91 minutes into the match, Pavel Chernov notched a goal, 8-3, to the right of Egypt's Abdel Haleem Ashraf. Abdel Haleem Ashraf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the Russia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
