The supporters of U21 Uruguay booed when U21 Ireland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danann MaCollin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 11 minutes, Ibar Codina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ibar Codina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Art Robinson scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nando Muslera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ravan McBjarton made a great header on U21 Ireland's corner, it was just that U21 Uruguay's Nando Muslera managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Uruguay's Andre Espinola slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brennan Dunne. That made the score 1-2 after 23 minutes of play. Bivitas Todd hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, Xavian Ceron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Uruguay's Nando Muslera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bardain Kirby in the 35th minute of play. U21 Ireland were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after U21 Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ravan McBjarton took the corner. After taking down the ball on U21 Ireland's corner Ravan McBjarton fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nando Muslera quite easily take care of the ball. After 43 played minutes U21 Ireland got a freekick which was hit by Roordan Ferguson. 45 minutes into the game, Benvido Ilarraza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Brennan Dunne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Benvido Ilarraza made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, U21 Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Ibar Codina came free, but Brennan Dunne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the match, Ibar Codina notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of U21 Ireland's Brennan Dunne. Brennan Dunne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 64 minutes into the match, Chayo Alcayde had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brennan Dunne. U21 Ireland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chayo Alcayde was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. U21 Uruguay's Nando Muslera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bardain Kirby in the 68th minute of play. U21 Ireland's Brennan Dunne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Espinola in the 69th minute of play. Brennan Dunne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Espinola in the 79th minute of play. Roordan Ferguson hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Nando Muslera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bivitas Todd in the 83rd minute. Nando Muslera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bardain Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Benvido Ilarraza took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brennan Dunne. Brennan Dunne dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. In the 93rd minute, Andre Espinola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Uruguay fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Ireland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
