Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Silvestre Vinayo took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Goiti in the 3rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Octavio Canales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Natanael Ruz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paraguay's Bjorn Brooks quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 15th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Paraguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Batista Quiroga ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Chile's Batista Quiroga to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabio Saez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Fabio Saez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Delpiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Batista Quiroga who took care of the corner kick. 0-1 became the score in the 28th minute when Silvestre Vinayo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Delpiano in the 35th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Fabio Saez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ellande Moron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Octavio Canales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batista Quiroga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavio Canales came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraguay's Silvestre Vinayo. But to his dismay, Silvestre Vinayo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 46 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Ellande Moron nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Octavio Canales made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
After 53 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Tadeo Goiti. César Patri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeo Goiti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chile's Baldomiro Gamarra was substituted for Amancio Delpiano. 63 minutes into the game, Baldomiro Gamarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomiro Gamarra to maneuver through the defense. Paraguay's Fabio Saez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Gamarra came free, but Fabio Saez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tadeo Goiti might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavio Canales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tadeo Goiti ran back to his position shaking his head. 70 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Octavio Canales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvestre Vinayo. In the 70th minute, Silvestre Vinayo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Octavio Canales. The goal made the score 0-4. Paraguay made a substitution. Inautzi Vallines replaced Ilazki Bolonga. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Tadeo Goiti took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Octavio Canales to make any attempt to save it. Paraguay's Fabio Saez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 80th minute of play. The corner led Chile's Baldomiro Gamarra to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabio Saez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Gamarra in the 85th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Fabio Saez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Baldomiro Gamarra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Paraguay's Fabio Saez did a great save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Paraguay had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
