Seating: 2384, VIP seats: 207) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Tor Tuga made the kick off which started today's match. 6 minutes into the match, U21 Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Tor Tuga came free, but Timon Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tor Tuga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Timon Buffon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jonathan Salvatore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kuno Codoni's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Grünenwald in the 10th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Jonathan Salvatore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Salvatore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanley Ruhle in the 14th minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Tor Tuga made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timon Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, U21 Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Tor Tuga came free, but Timon Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Switzerland's goalkeeper Timon Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basilio Viator. Timon Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tor Tuga in the 22nd minute of play. U21 Argentina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gervasio Cesaro in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute, Tor Tuga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanley Ruhle in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Salvatore saved U21 Argentina from getting behind. Timon Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor Tuga in the 34th minute of the match. Tor Tuga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timon Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. U21 Argentina were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after U21 Switzerland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gervasio Cesaro took the corner. The U21 Switzerland fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when U21 Switzerland's Stanley Ruhle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anders Hammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maxime Moench was the one to do the kick off. Kuno Codoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Salvatore having to interfere. With an all-out effort, U21 Switzerland's Jonathan Salvatore threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anders Hammer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Timon Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor Tuga in the 59th minute of the match. After some careless play in the U21 Switzerland defense, Tor Tuga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timon Buffon. The U21 Switzerland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timon Buffon should have stopped the shot. Tor Tuga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Hammer in the 65th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Jonathan Salvatore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Marcos Nikola made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timon Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timon Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Nikola, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When U21 Argentina's Marcos Nikola in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Switzerland's goalie prevented a goal. When Walter Kannemann fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Argentina's protests and gave Walter Kannemann a yellow card for diving instead. Walter Kannemann kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Argentina fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Switzerland had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
