The U21 Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aristide Pâslaru should have stopped the shot. Aristide Pâslaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Nóbrega in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Leandro Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristide Pâslaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gelu Condrea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Dedé de Godoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Gelu Condrea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dedé de Godoy. Gelu Condrea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 29th minute Leandro Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristide Pâslaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Brazil's Leandro Damião managed to work through U21 Romania's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Leandro Damião dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when U21 Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabino Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Șerban Horea's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Dedé de Godoy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 40th match minute, U21 Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Șerban Horea to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Șerban Horea made a kick off. Cido Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Aristide Pâslaru made a huge save. With a little luck, U21 Romania's Aristide Pâslaru got control of the ball when Chiquinho Nóbrega tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Romania's Aristide Pâslaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Romania from getting a goal against them. U21 Brazil's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
