Héctor Bellerin took the corner. After a rather tough play, U21 Kuwait's Ameer Al Herz got a free kick in the 10th minute. With a little luck, U21 Kuwait's Faisal Al Saleh got control of the ball when Stephan-Andreas Mayr tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Sror Al Wazan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Héctor Bellerin lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Kuwait fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel-Benjamin König in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faisal Al Saleh saved U21 Kuwait from getting behind. Faisal Al Saleh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Dorazil in the 21st minute of play. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moath Bahroh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faisal Al Saleh made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Joel-Benjamin König sent off a good shot on target. Stephan-Andreas Mayr in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Faisal Al Saleh, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 30 minutes into the match, U21 Kuwait's goal looked a bit too open when Joel-Benjamin König came free, but Faisal Al Saleh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Joel-Benjamin König reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Faisal Al Saleh. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 37th minute Tibor Dorazil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faisal Al Saleh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faisal Al Saleh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephan-Andreas Mayr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Kuwait's Moath Bahroh. But to his dismay, Moath Bahroh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Tibor Dorazil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faisal Al Saleh having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hans Schertz to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, U21 Kuwait's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Schertz came free, but Faisal Al Saleh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Joel-Benjamin König shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faisal Al Saleh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faisal Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Schertz in the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Michael Klöck hit a great ball. In the 69th minute of the match Moath Bahroh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 74 minutes of play, U21 Austria's Joel-Benjamin König made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Faisal Al Saleh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Faisal Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan-Andreas Mayr in the 77th minute of the match. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Moath Bahroh sent off a good shot on target. Faisal Al Saleh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralf-Joachim Zingler in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, U21 Kuwait's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan-Andreas Mayr came free, but Faisal Al Saleh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Meshal Al Khames kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Faisal Al Saleh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Dorazil in the 92nd minute of play. If Joel-Benjamin König had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute, Tibor Dorazil left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.
