In the 5th minute, Hans Schertz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A hard shot 10 in the game by Moath Bahroh from a close distance when the talented Julius-Lasse Sandkühler managed to make a qualified save. U21 Austria's players were relieved. In the 11th minute Hans Schertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faisal Al Saleh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Schertz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faisal Al Saleh having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Meshal Al Khames in the 16th minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Julius-Lasse Sandkühler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faisal Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralf-Joachim Zingler in the 25th minute of the match. Faisal Al Saleh came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Austria's Joel-Benjamin König. But to his dismay, Joel-Benjamin König quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moath Bahroh during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Moath Bahroh kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Sror Al Wazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faisal Al Saleh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephan-Andreas Mayr, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Sror Al Wazan made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Meshal Al Khames shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius-Lasse Sandkühler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Ameer Al Herz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stephan-Andreas Mayr could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Faisal Al Saleh made a huge save. Héctor Bellerin kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Michael Klöck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faisal Al Saleh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Faisal Al Saleh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel-Benjamin König's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. After 64 played minutes U21 Kuwait got a freekick which was hit by Hamad Khorshed. Faisal Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Schertz in the 66th minute of the match. Ralf-Joachim Zingler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Faisal Al Saleh made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Meshal Al Khames in the 71st minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Julius-Lasse Sandkühler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Austria's Joel-Benjamin König got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Sror Al Wazan struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Kuwait. After 74 played minutes U21 Austria got a freekick which was hit by Phillip Gehre. Faisal Al Saleh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan-Andreas Mayr in the 77th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Tariq Kamal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Kuwait's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Austria the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 Kuwait's Tariq Kamal got a free kick in the 80th minute. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meshal Al Khames in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Ameer Al Herz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faisal Al Saleh was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Michael Klöck. Julius-Lasse Sandkühler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sror Al Wazan in the 94th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Austria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
