Ivan Lundqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Skirmantas Domarkas in the 4th minute of play. With a little luck, U21 Sweden's Ivan Lundqvist got control of the ball when Skirmantas Domarkas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Bobby Zamora was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Sweden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Lithuania the free kick. Bobby Zamora kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Ivan Lundqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilis Kardašius. 18 minutes into the match, U21 Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Rasmus Salle came free, but Albertas Čivinskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Skirmantas Domarkas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Ivan Lundqvist made a huge save. Albertas Čivinskas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Östlund in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominykas Krištopaitis in the 28th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Ivan Lundqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on U21 Lithuania's corner Henrikas Gasparavičius fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ivan Lundqvist quite easily take care of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Jurgis Tavoras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Lundqvist had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Skirmantas Domarkas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When U21 Sweden's Rasmus Salle in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Lithuania's goalie prevented a goal. 42 minutes into the match, U21 Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Rasmus Salle came free, but Albertas Čivinskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertas Čivinskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rasmus Salle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bobby Zamora struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Albertas Čivinskas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Sweden. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Jimmy Påk put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Albertas Čivinskas. Emilis Kardašius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Lundqvist having to interfere. Rasmus Salle's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Albertas Čivinskas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Jimmy Påk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jimmy Påk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albertas Čivinskas was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Albertas Čivinskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Påk in the 66th minute of the match. Emilis Kardašius spun around in front of the goal 71 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of U21 Sweden's goal. U21 Lithuania's Justas Plakys was substituted for Žygimantas Aleknavičius. U21 Lithuania's Gytis Tamkus was substituted for Emilis Kardašius. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gytis Tamkus in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Lundqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. U21 Sweden made a substitution. Elliott Källberg replaced Jimmy Påk. U21 Lithuania were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after U21 Sweden's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrikas Gasparavičius took the corner. 80 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Gytis Tamkus came free, but Ivan Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramsay Bolton in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Albertas Čivinskas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 82 played minutes U21 Lithuania got a freekick which was hit by Jurgis Tavoras. Bobby Zamora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertas Čivinskas having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramsay Bolton in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertas Čivinskas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sigitas Krepšta charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sigitas Krepšta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 90 minutes into the match, U21 Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Ramsay Bolton came free, but Albertas Čivinskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertas Čivinskas came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Sweden's Elliott Källberg. But to his dismay, Elliott Källberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Gytis Tamkus came free, but Ivan Lundqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Ramsay Bolton took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Albertas Čivinskas to make any attempt to save it. The U21 Lithuania supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Sweden's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Sweden.
