Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) U21 Scotland's Charles McCeallaich started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Harry McWalrick managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when U21 Peru's Nayely Lozares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Harry McWalrick was a little too slow when Nayely Lozares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Azpiazu got free with Harry McWalrick in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 minutes, Joseph Fife mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Scotland and the U21 Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. 17 minutes into the game, Marcio Valverde was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Peru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Scotland the free kick. In the 18th match minute, U21 Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcio Valverde to maneuver through the defense. Nayely Lozares's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Harry McWalrick firmly grabbed it by the left post. Joseph Fife got his second yellow card in the match during the 20th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 21st minute, Joseph Fife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry McWalrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Azpiazu in the 22nd minute of the match. Harry McWalrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Azpiazu, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Scotland's Charlie McClure got a free kick in the 26th minute. Harry McWalrick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentin Azpiazu went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Valentin Azpiazu might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harry McWalrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Azpiazu ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Azpiazu got free with Harry McWalrick in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nayely Lozares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Harry McWalrick made a huge save. After some careless play in the U21 Scotland defense, Valentin Azpiazu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harry McWalrick. The U21 Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harry McWalrick should have stopped the shot. When John McCaig fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Scotland's protests and gave John McCaig a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of U21 Peru booed when U21 Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. John McCaig didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Peru made a substitution. Emanuel Herrera replaced Joaquim Aristegui. John McCaig kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match.
In the 57th minute, Soin Aberasturi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Peru's José Sotomayor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Peru from getting a goal against them. 66 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's Charles McCeallaich sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Sotomayor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willie McMartin got free with José Sotomayor in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to U21 Scotland getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jason McAngus hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Scotland's Jason McAngus got a free kick in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Azpiazu came free, but Harry McWalrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Sotomayor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles McCeallaich in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Peru's Severiano Delatorre got a free kick in the 79th minute. Harry McWalrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vako Amaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harry McWalrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vako Amaya in the 92nd minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Scotland getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Declan Haddon hit a great ball. U21 Peru's Emanuel Herrera got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Peru had won after a very even match.
