Joaquin Maldonado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nataniel Alvaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Pau Lombraña came free, but Tadeo Guerrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 5th minute when Francisco Batista elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nataniel Alvaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Maldonado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hipolito Calixto who took care of the corner kick. Uruguay's Nataniel Alvaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Maldonado in the 12th minute of play. Nataniel Alvaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Batista in the 14th minute of the match. Ulizes Beytia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Tadeo Guerrero made a huge save. 0-2 became the score in the 20th minute when Joaquin Maldonado elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 26th minute Bitxintxo Buraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bitxintxo Buraga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Tadeo Guerrero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Batista came free, but Nataniel Alvaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Uruguay's Tadeo Guerrero threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ulizes Beytia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bitxintxo Buraga in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadeo Guerrero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Uruguay's Ulizes Beytia got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tadeo Guerrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristofol Bergas in the 35th minute. Bitxintxo Buraga in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tadeo Guerrero, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Argentina! Argentina:s Tadeo Guerrero showed great skill when he stopped Damaso Caseda:s penalty. In the 43rd minute, Damaso Caseda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeo Guerrero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Uruguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Argentina were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bitxintxo Buraga made a kick off. In the 56th minute Joaquin Maldonado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nataniel Alvaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 minutes of play, Uruguay's Ulizes Beytia made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tadeo Guerrero was left in no man's land by his defense there! 61 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Batista came free, but Nataniel Alvaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulizes Beytia in the 62nd minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Tadeo Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bitxintxo Buraga in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tadeo Guerrero saved Argentina from getting behind. In the 68thth minute of the game Bitxintxo Buraga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Argentina's Tadeo Guerrero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Francisco Batista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Nataniel Alvaro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute of the match, Joaquin Maldonado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nataniel Alvaro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Nataniel Alvaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Maldonado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nataniel Alvaro came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentina's Joaquin Maldonado. But to his dismay, Joaquin Maldonado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Argentina made a substitution. Damian Gotzon replaced Joaquin Maldonado. Uruguay's Edson Lecuna was substituted for Bitxintxo Buraga. Argentina's Lucas Inocente was substituted for Astor Jaizki. Uruguay's Sebastiano Barrachina was substituted for Millan Regidor. Nataniel Alvaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Gotzon, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Nataniel Alvaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Gotzon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pau Lombraña in the 89th minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Tadeo Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nataniel Alvaro made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Hipolito Calixto sent off a good shot on target. Argentina's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
