Federations League beta season now in session!

04-07-2023 10:00

Clashes have started! All federations with at least 8 first team members have now been added to the beta season of the Federations League. If you have been selected as first team member for any of these federations, you can now proceed to play your very first clash. You can find it through the main menu under Federations or through the front page of your federation.

Below we will go through the main things you need to know about the federations league, at this stage. If you want to read more about clashes, you can do so here. We have also prepared a list of terminology and explanations for those who would rather have a clean overview of everything surrounding the new features, here. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them in this forum thread. You can write in any language, we will answer in English.

Federation League basics

All division groups are made up of 24 federations, where each federation play each other once, resulting in 23 clashes in a normal season, although this might not be the case during the beta. You will know the playing schedule for the entire season in advance, just like you are used to from the individual leagues.

A clash lasts for 3 or 4 days, and there is one hour between the end of one clash and the start of the next one. Clashes in the beta season will run from Tuesday to Friday, then Friday to Tuesday.

How points are gained

The federations league is different from the individual league in one key aspect: all points that your federation gains and concedes during a clash, will be added to the league table, whether you win or lose. But in addition, you will also get a bonus for winning or drawing clashes. Winning a clash will get you 6 bonus points, while drawing a clash gets you 3 bonus points.

In the image below we can see that the 33 points gathered in the clash, have been added to the P+ column (Points gained), in the league table. Meanwhile, the opponent federation has gained 5 points in their challenges against us, which have been added to our P- (Points conceded) column.

In the P= column, we can see the difference between the points gained and the points conceded.

In addition, the bonus column lists all of the bonus points gained from winning and drawing clashes. In the example above, MzfriendZone has won all of their clashes thus far, resulting in 36 bonus points.

The end result as you can see is 124 points total for MZfriendZone, and this is how the league table is ranked. If you have the highest amount of total points, you will top the table.

Division structure

We will avoid going to deep into the division structure at this point, since the beta season will contain only one division, and no promotion or relegation will take place until the first real, non-beta, season ends. Once we are past the beta stage, all active federations will be seeded and added to a division tree. News about this will be published separately, at a later point.

Beta season

As we have previously stated, the beta season will be divided up into several smaller chunks. If your federation has not been added to the federations league this time, there will be more opportunities to be added during the first beta season. If your federation has been added, but you do not have a full team of 16 first team members, you can add new members at any time. They will be able to represent your federation in the next clash.

Free clash scout credits

You will notice it is possible to play scout matches against opponents during a clash. When playing a clash scout match, you will play against the away tactic that the user has prepared. You can play as many clash scout matches as you want, and against any opponent. We have added 10 free clash scout credits for everyone, so you can test this feature.

Best of luck!
