Podador Semell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shi Ting Ning in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 柯青适 who took care of the corner kick. Ye Xun kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bertrán Malaree's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 吕凡谦 was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 吕凡谦 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertrán Malaree in the 28th minute. With a left leg 吕凡谦 saved China from getting behind. 吕凡谦 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Horta, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Podador Semell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shi Ting Ning in the 43rd minute of play. Bertrán Malaree's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 吕凡谦 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After 47 minutes China's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gervasio Buitrago who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Domenico Campillo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Long Peng Chao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Chile's Podador Semell got control of the ball when Shi Ting Ning tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Long Peng Chao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as China's Shi Ting Ning slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Podador Semell. That made the score 0-1 after 56 minutes of play. China's Šućo Okaemov was substituted for Shao De Bin. When Bertrán Malaree came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bertrán Malaree couldn't finish the play. A sloppy throw-in by Higinio Somoza in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by China's 柯青适. In the 67th minute Bertrán Malaree shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 吕凡谦 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Podador Semell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Ting Ning in the 72nd minute of the match. Shi Ting Ning's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Podador Semell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Shi Ting Ning could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Podador Semell made a huge save. 78 minutes into the match, China's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Horta came free, but 吕凡谦 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. China's 唐博荣 was substituted for Shi Ting Ning. Chile's Leoncio Deneken was substituted for Maurín Daughters. Chile's Ronaldo Diaz de Valdes was substituted for Eduard Tellerias. 81 minutes in the game Domenico Campillo did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Bertrán Malaree. 邱源朗s short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Podador Semell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 88 minutes into the match, China's goal looked a bit too open when Bertrán Malaree came free, but 吕凡谦 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by China's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. China's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. China's 唐博荣 got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The China supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing China would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
