Rodrick Orlinsky didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hilario Txordon in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jim Mitchell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teo Phelipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jim Mitchell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teo Phelipe ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Pegaso's Uriel Orland got control of the ball when Kris Marks tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute, Kris Marks reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Uriel Orland. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 14th minute, Bart Greenwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jim Mitchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Txordon in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Bart Greenwood. Jim Mitchell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Txordon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uriel Orland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Marks in the 31st minute. 37 minutes into the match, Pegaso's Cesar Chap sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jim Mitchell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute Hilario Txordon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kris Marks to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Kris Marks ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uriel Orland was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Uriel Orland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Marks in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Desmond Rowell in the 61st minute of play forced Pegaso's goalkeeper Uriel Orland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pegaso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos FC the free kick. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Uriel Orland showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
