Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Armando Sotomayor took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's Waldir Sáenz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Almandoz Rusoto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Urritz Collazo came free, but Julian Vuelta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Imperatore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Julian Vuelta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of U21 Ecuador booed when U21 Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Ramon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Armando Sotomayor reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Almandoz Rusoto. The goal made the score 1-0. U21 Ecuador's Almandoz Rusoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Domingo Grijan was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of U21 Ecuador's goalie and right to Waldir Sáenz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. U21 Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. U21 Peru's Julian Vuelta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urritz Collazo in the 29th minute of play. Julian Vuelta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urritz Collazo in the 30th minute of play. Julian Vuelta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carabalí Mariño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Urritz Collazo in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian Vuelta saved U21 Peru from getting behind. In the 33rd minute, Armando Sotomayor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Sotomayor got free with Almandoz Rusoto in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Almandoz Rusoto made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Armando Sotomayor sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Armando Sotomayor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Almandoz Rusoto. That made the score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play. U21 Ecuador's Almandoz Rusoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Sáenz in the 46th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Sotomayor got free with Almandoz Rusoto in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
54 minutes into the game, Urritz Collazo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julian Vuelta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Almandoz Rusoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Losif Rafales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urritz Collazo got free with Julian Vuelta in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute, U21 Peru's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Urritz Collazo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sandro Imperatore in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julian Vuelta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Urritz Collazo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julian Vuelta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to U21 Ecuador getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Dean Ambrose hit a great ball. U21 Peru's Paul Ramon was substituted for Juan Manuel Vargas. After a rather tough play, U21 Ecuador's Dean Ambrose got a free kick in the 72nd minute. U21 Ecuador's Almandoz Rusoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Losif Rafales in the 75th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urritz Collazo got free with Julian Vuelta in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 78 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goalkeeper Julian Vuelta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Urritz Collazo. After some careless play in the U21 Ecuador defense, Waldir Sáenz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Almandoz Rusoto. The U21 Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Almandoz Rusoto should have stopped the shot. Losif Rafales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Losif Rafales in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Almandoz Rusoto saved U21 Ecuador from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Ecuador's zone, Waldir Sáenz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almandoz Rusoto came out of the goal and Waldir Sáenz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Almandoz Rusoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waldir Sáenz, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Almandoz Rusoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Losif Rafales in the 93rd minute of play. Losif Rafales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute Gutierre Vivera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almandoz Rusoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Peru's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
