Zachariasz Ciborek made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th minute, Walery Cieliczka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Basarab Birișu fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Romania's protests and gave Basarab Birișu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 Romania getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Basarab Birișu hit a great ball. U21 Poland's Walery Cieliczka got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walery Cieliczka took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurel Balotă. Aurel Balotă dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 18th minute of the match, Walery Cieliczka got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aurel Balotă was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. U21 Poland were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after U21 Romania's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gwidon Prus took the corner. U21 Poland's Gwidon Prus was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aurel Balotă in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Walery Cieliczka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Walery Cieliczka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Aurel Balotă made a huge save. Aurel Balotă made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Walery Cieliczka sent off a good shot on target. Andrzej Zahemski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Cosoroabă in the 26th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Mihăiţă Rada's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrzej Zahemski was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Zachariasz Ciborek kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. U21 Poland's Andrzej Zahemski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Rada in the 35th minute of play. If Zachariasz Ciborek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrzej Zahemski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihăiţă Rada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zachariasz Ciborek charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zachariasz Ciborek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Zachariasz Ciborek hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mihăiţă Rada made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachariasz Ciborek in the 56th minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Aurel Balotă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Zachariasz Ciborek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Aurel Balotă was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Poland's Wojciech Miarka was substituted for Walery Cieliczka. U21 Romania made a substitution. Octavian Mititelu replaced Petrică Ciocan. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Wojciech Miarka hit a great ball. After 62 played minutes U21 Poland got a freekick which was hit by Wojciech Miarka. In the 66th minute, one of U21 Poland:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Poland. Victor Răchiteanu walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The supporters of U21 Poland booed when U21 Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octavian Mititelu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aurel Balotă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Napoleon Skorny, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihăiţă Rada in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrzej Zahemski saved U21 Poland from getting behind. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Mihăiţă Rada sped through U21 Poland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andrzej Zahemski. Sandu Dudea's late challenge caught a U21 Poland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandu Dudea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute, Sandu Dudea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, U21 Poland's Andrzej Zahemski got control of the ball when Sandu Dudea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mateusz Bator struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Aurel Balotă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Poland. After 94 played minutes U21 Romania got a freekick which was hit by Victor Răchiteanu. Cyprian Bierfass made in the 95th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 Romania's Victor Răchiteanu. After 98 minutes of play, U21 Poland's Mateusz Bator made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aurel Balotă was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Poland's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
