With a little luck, U21 Ireland's Baiste O'Neill got control of the ball when Fabian Kissel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Philip McOliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pit Agoras having to interfere. With an all-out effort, U21 Poland's Baiste O'Neill threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boleslaw Michnik, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. U21 Ireland's Baiste O'Neill proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Ireland from getting a goal against them. Pit Agoras came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Ireland's Brann Morrison. But to his dismay, Brann Morrison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 36 minutes into the game, Franciszek Drugi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Poland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Ireland the free kick. Franciszek Drugi kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Baiste O'Neill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mateusz Bator in the 39th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bart Mis during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bart Mis hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Ireland's zone, Mateusz Bator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baiste O'Neill came out of the goal and Mateusz Bator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
U21 Poland made a substitution. Borys Nakoneczny replaced Leon Bořuta. Baiste O'Neill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateusz Bator, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Wiktor Kasiewski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Baiste O'Neill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiktor Kasiewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wiktor Kasiewski in the 57th minute of play forced U21 Ireland's goalkeeper Baiste O'Neill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, U21 Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Mateusz Bator came free, but Baiste O'Neill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Poland's Pit Agoras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Poland from getting a goal against them. U21 Ireland's Baiste O'Neill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Kasiewski in the 65th minute of play. Baiste O'Neill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wiktor Kasiewski in the 77th minute of the match. U21 Poland's Zachariasz Ciborek was substituted for Mateusz Bator. In the 80th minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Borys Nakoneczny went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Borys Nakoneczny almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Ireland's Baiste O'Neill did a great save. In the 82nd match minute, U21 Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tanek Praski to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, U21 Poland's Pawel Liman got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Pit Agoras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip McOliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Petran Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Brann Morrison came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the U21 Ireland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brann Morrison couldn't finish the play. Baiste O'Neill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiktor Kasiewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th minute Borys Nakoneczny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baiste O'Neill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Poland were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Ireland for a fine match.
