Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Hungary's József Pálosi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wolffram Lanzinger made an important save on a dangerous shot by András Medgyesi in the 4th minute. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Márton Rigó was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Márton Rigó almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Germany's Wolffram Lanzinger did a great save. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Balázs Soós got a free kick in the 6th minute. Wolffram Lanzinger made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Bertold Ács sent off a good shot on target. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Wolffram Lanzinger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Antoine Kiehl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Šandor Szabo. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antoine Kiehl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 14 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Halldor Kolb. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Márton Rigó during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Márton Rigó hit a great ball. Wolffram Lanzinger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from József Pálosi in the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Antoine Kiehl came free, but Šandor Szabo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. József Pálosi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertold Ács got free with Wolffram Lanzinger in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Šandor Szabo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joscha Pedersen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Antoine Kiehl came free, but Šandor Szabo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Wolffram Lanzinger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertold Ács. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Halldor Kolb hit a great ball. András Medgyesi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wolffram Lanzinger having to make a save.
53 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Bertold Ács came free, but Wolffram Lanzinger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germany's Wolffram Lanzinger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by József Pálosi in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joscha Pedersen in the 56th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Šandor Szabo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute László Csank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wolffram Lanzinger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Wolffram Lanzinger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Germany made a substitution. Timo Päzel replaced Claus Luckner. The corner led Germany's Konrád Heidemann to fire away a dangerous shot which Šandor Szabo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hungary's Šandor Szabo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Kleppinger in the 65th minute of play. Bertold Ács fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wolffram Lanzinger having to interfere. Germany's Florian Protze was substituted for Joscha Pedersen. Adrian Kleppinger's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Šandor Szabo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hungary's Šandor Szabo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoine Kiehl in the 72nd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when József Pálosi came free, but Wolffram Lanzinger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hungary's József Pálosi in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Germany's goalie prevented a goal. Adrian Kleppinger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Šandor Szabo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian Kleppinger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Šandor Szabo made a huge save. 85 minutes into the match, Hungary's Bertold Ács sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wolffram Lanzinger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Hungary's Šandor Szabo got control of the ball when Halldor Kolb tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wolffram Lanzinger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from József Pálosi in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoine Kiehl in the 92nd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Šandor Szabo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Germany had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
