Frasco Esquivel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generosb Prat, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AFC United's zone, Carlomagno Agüero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frasco Esquivel came out of the goal and Carlomagno Agüero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute Balesio Leiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Llin Venero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CON-E-CO's Teofilo Corrillos got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 39 minutes into the match, CON-E-CO's goal looked a bit too open when Balesio Leiva came free, but Llin Venero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Fernandez in the 43rd minute of play forced AFC United's goalkeeper Frasco Esquivel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Nardo Torrecilla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CON-E-CO the free kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Luix Palomino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The AFC United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AFC United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
