With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gregorio Urtsin in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xove Tijerina saved Uruguay from getting behind. Lev Yashin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevam Moroño in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes in the game, Armando Felipillo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Xove Tijerina having to interfere. Estevam Moroño hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Lev Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Estevam Moroño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xove Tijerina was a little too slow when Loco Durazno got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Loco Durazno could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Xove Tijerina however easily saved by the left post. In the 27th minute Loco Durazno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xove Tijerina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Argentina's Lev Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Estevam Moroño in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Paolo-César Maldini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xove Tijerina came out of the goal and Paolo-César Maldini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Paolo-César Maldini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xove Tijerina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paolo-César Maldini scored 2-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xove Tijerina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Uruguay's Xove Tijerina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Lev Yashin came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Estevam Moroño. But to his dismay, Estevam Moroño quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedicto Naelio was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Argentina's Benedicto Naelio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xove Tijerina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Uruguay's Xove Tijerina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 54th minute of play. Xove Tijerina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 56th minute of play. Benedicto Naelio scored 4-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xove Tijerina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 61st minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Xove Tijerina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xove Tijerina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 73rd minute of the match. A collision led to Argentina getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Ceferino Nalo hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Ceferino Nalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute Rosario Cepa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lev Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Argentina's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Solustiano Blea was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Uruguay's Gitano Rubiero getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Quetara came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes in the game Diego Godin did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cordario Vivero. Argentina's Lev Yashin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Quetara in the 85th minute of play. Leonel Bastiaro kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Argentina's zone, Solustiano Blea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lev Yashin came out of the goal and Solustiano Blea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Zemario Quer got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Uruguay's Xove Tijerina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Naelio in the 95th minute of play. Lev Yashin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Quetara went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Argentina were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
