Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Maria Carson got free with Gaitán Poza in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute, Teodoro Otazo made a precise shot to the right of Luis Javier Gálvez. CD La Serena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Teodoro Otazo came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Toret fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Otazo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Toret booed when CD La Serena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arcadio Pastene didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodoro Otazo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Javier Gálvez having to interfere. Gaitán Poza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Durney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CD La Serena's Luis Javier Gálvez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Otazo in the 29th minute of play. Eufemio Frizs short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Gaitán Poza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Toret's Gaitán Poza got control of the ball when Rafael Maria Carson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute Romeo Durney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaitán Poza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Víctor Javier Hoefler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toret's supporters rose to their feet, but Víctor Javier Hoefler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Javier Gálvez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Otazo to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Manuel Urquieta got free with Luis Javier Gálvez in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toret's Gaitán Poza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Arteche in the 56th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Toret's Luis Javier Gálvez threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Víctor Javier Hoefler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luis Javier Gálvez came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Toret's Teodoro Otazo. But to his dismay, Teodoro Otazo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jose Manuel Urquieta came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luis Javier Gálvez could save by the left post. A collision led to CD La Serena getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Lucián Ahumada hit a great ball. Eufemio Friz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rafael Maria Carson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Rafael Maria Popelaire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafael Maria Carson might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaitán Poza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Maria Carson ran back to his position shaking his head. CD La Serena's Joel Arteche got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaitán Poza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Durney in the 84th minute of the match. After 86 minutes, Jorge Vicente Canitrot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Toret and the CD La Serena players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88thth minute of the game Eufemio Friz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Toret's Gaitán Poza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eufemio Friz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The CD La Serena manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Toret to win.
