Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Isadoro Castex could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Luis Javier Gálvez made a huge save. When Lolo Leyton fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Larmahue's protests and gave Lolo Leyton a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Lolo Leyton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mercurio Aristizaval showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eufemio Friz, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Enrique Mariano Mendieta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Luis Javier Gálvez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Rafael Maria Carson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 23 played minutes Larmahue got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Mariano Mendieta. Joel Arteche hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Mercurio Aristizaval made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Maria Carson in the 28th minute of play. Rafael Maria Carson scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mercurio Aristizaval, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eufemio Friz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 36 played minutes CD La Serena got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Maria Carson. 41 minutes into the match, Larmahue's goal looked a bit too open when Eufemio Friz came free, but Mercurio Aristizaval reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Joel Arteche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Larmahue's zone, Rafael Maria Carson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mercurio Aristizaval came out of the goal and Rafael Maria Carson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eufemio Friz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Telmo Mac Iver left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Larmahue fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 1-2 became the score in the 58th minute when Eufemio Friz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Luis Javier Gálvez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Mac Iver in the 62nd minute of play. Rafael Maria Carson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Mercurio Aristizaval tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauricio Oropesa during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 66th minute, Mauricio Oropesa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Eufemio Friz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mercurio Aristizaval was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 76 minutes into the match, Larmahue's goalkeeper Mercurio Aristizaval had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eufemio Friz. Joel Arteche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Joel Arteche managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD La Serena's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Arteche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mercurio Aristizaval breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the match, CD La Serena's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Mac Iver came free, but Luis Javier Gálvez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Isadoro Castex was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Larmahue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD La Serena the free kick. Mercurio Aristizaval made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Maria Carson in the 85th minute. Lolo Leyton kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Eufemio Friz let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 90th minute shot 1-4 at rihgt post. Joel Arteche struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Mercurio Aristizaval didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD La Serena. Joel Arteche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mercurio Aristizaval having to interfere. The Larmahue fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CD La Serena were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
