Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Antonio Cacho to make the kick off. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blackpool FC's Norberto Waugh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Blackpool FC from getting a goal against them. Blackpool FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Victoria FC the free kick. Juan Miguel Almendras did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-4 to the left of a surprised Norberto Waugh 91 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Victoria FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Blackpool FC.
