Freddy Basajaun might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Custódio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddy Basajaun ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Leões do Sul 53's Leandro Custódio got control of the ball when Freddy Basajaun tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joinville S.German-FSCMZ's Benny Stolpe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Rüşti in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Hílton Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leões do Sul 53 and the Joinville S.German-FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Leões do Sul 53 got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Heidemann. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Custódio having to interfere. Leandro Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Joinville S.German-FSCMZ had won after a very even match.
