In the 24th minute Benicio Conrao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Lope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Stephen in the 26th minute of play forced Guernica FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Lope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnoldo Ticho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Flores, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute, Luisito Stephen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luisito Stephen fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Empomadores's protests and gave Luisito Stephen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Empomadores getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Luisito Stephen hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Guernica FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Conrao came free, but Arnulfo Lope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnulfo Lope showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisito Stephen in the 45th minute of the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Luisito Stephen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Empomadores's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisito Stephen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnulfo Lope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Conrao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Empomadores were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teo Flores made a kick off. Guernica FC's Teo Flores got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnulfo Lope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Conrao, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Teo Flores blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnoldo Ticho having to make a save. Arnulfo Lope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Conrao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teo Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Ticho having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Empomadores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Stephen to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Empomadores's zone, Teo Flores stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnoldo Ticho came out of the goal and Teo Flores tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 played minutes Empomadores got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Quentin. Guernica FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Benicio Conrao scored to the left of an out of position Arnulfo Lope, making the score, 0-2. Arnulfo Lope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Lando in the 80th minute of play. Benicio Conrao hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Guernica FC's Teo Flores got a free kick in the 84th minute. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Empomadores's Benicio Conrao in the 85th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Arnulfo Lope was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Guernica FC through an amazing save. Arnulfo Lope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benicio Conrao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes, Angelo Ortle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guernica FC and the Empomadores players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Guernica FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Arnulfo Lope, was totally fooled by Empomadores's Tiburcio Laurentzi, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Although Guernica FC had been in control for most of the match, Empomadores still came away with the win.
