Spectators: 7269 (Terracing: 5453, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) Melo's Eugenio Curcio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Melo getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jimeno Pereyra hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the game, Eugenio Curcio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arnoldo Ralondo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Eugenio Curcio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Eugenio Curcio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Ralondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tulumba's Arnoldo Ralondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Venceslas in the 20th minute of play. Leonardo Eron hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Geronimo Bero was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Denis Venceslas scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnoldo Ralondo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 30 minutes, Eugenio Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Curcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Denis Venceslas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnoldo Ralondo was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When Eugenio Curcio came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Melo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenio Curcio couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute Denis Venceslas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Ralondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Tulumba's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Curcio came free, but Arnoldo Ralondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 played minutes Tulumba got a freekick which was hit by Godofredo Marques. Arnoldo Ralondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Venceslas in the 49th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ceferino Alvarez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Denis Venceslas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Melo booed when Tulumba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Ireno didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Tulumba's goalkeeper Arnoldo Ralondo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Venceslas. Ignacio Vigil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Ireno in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Melo's Augusto Sal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnoldo Ralondo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 68 minutes into the game, one of Tulumba:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Melo. Geronimo Bero stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arnoldo Ralondo. 0-3. Eugenio Curcio struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Arnoldo Ralondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melo. If Denis Venceslas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eugenio Curcio might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnoldo Ralondo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Curcio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Leonardo Eron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Tulumba's zone, Eugenio Curcio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnoldo Ralondo came out of the goal and Eugenio Curcio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the match, Tulumba's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Curcio came free, but Arnoldo Ralondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Venceslas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Eron got his second yellow card in the match during the 99th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Eugenio Curcio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 101st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Melo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tulumba throughout the match.
