Elpidio Vitin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrianinho Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Adrianinho Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Correla q va en Chancleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Beltza to maneuver through the defense. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrianinho Meirelles in the 42nd minute of the match. Adrianinho Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Paez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicolas Roland made a kick off. Adrianinho Meirelles scored 5-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elpidio Vitin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Meirelles in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolas Roland got free with Patricio Ugutz in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patricio Ugutz made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Cristian Naike sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Naike's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Ugutz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Meirelles in the 81st minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Adrianinho Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
