With a little luck, Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames got control of the ball when Tyler McThomas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tony McHarold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graeme McRobie in the 17th minute of play. Port Edinburgh AFC's Tony McHarold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Gordon in the 26th minute of play. Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Morar in the 33rd minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Smiddy Celts's Graeme Gordon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony McHarold made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Graeme McRobie made the kick off in the second half. Port Edinburgh AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 50th minute, when Graeme Gordon scored to the left of an out of position Tony McHarold, making the score, 0-2. Paddy Thomson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tony McHarold made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phillip McKeochan in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Graeme Gordon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony McHarold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Phillip McKeochan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony McHarold. The goal made the score 0-3. Tony McHarold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graeme McRobie, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute Graeme Gordon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony McHarold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony McHarold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graeme Gordon in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Port Edinburgh AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Gordon came free, but Tony McHarold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phillip McKeochan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Tony McHarold made a huge save. 87 minutes into the game, Smiddy Celts's Graeme Gordon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony McHarold made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Tony McHarold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Gordon in the 90th minute of the match. Tony McHarold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wal McVean, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Wal McVean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Tony McHarold made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Graeme Gordon took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Tony McHarold to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Smiddy Celts's Will Neil got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th match minute, Smiddy Celts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Neil to maneuver through the defense. The Port Edinburgh AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Smiddy Celts were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
