Intrusive Thoughts's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Terry Mayfield was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Owen Hopker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Mayfield in the 8th minute of the match. Alan da Fonseca had several of the Intrusive Thoughts's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Owen Hopker as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 14 played minutes Intrusive Thoughts got a freekick which was hit by Ronnie Bolton. After 17 played minutes Intrusive Thoughts got a freekick which was hit by Willie Adams. When the match had been going on for 18 minutes Terry Mayfield shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Owen Hopker when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. If Andrew Wild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Alan da Fonseca made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Owen Hopker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rhys Bibby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Owen Hopker was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rhys Bibby showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 39 minute of play. Alan da Fonseca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Owen Hopker came out and tried to block the shot, but Alan da Fonseca slotted it home off the left post making it 6-0 in the 43rd minute. Owen Hopker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terry Mayfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Bannister stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Intrusive Thoughts's goal looked a bit too open when Alan da Fonseca came free, but Owen Hopker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Owen Hopker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terry Mayfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alan da Fonseca in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Owen Hopker saved Intrusive Thoughts from getting behind. Alan da Fonseca took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Owen Hopker. Owen Hopker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Mikael Rolandsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Hopker having to interfere. The supporters of Intrusive Thoughts booed when Cheadle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Witomir Jarocewicz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willie Adams got free with Phillip Woodhall in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Owen Hopker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan da Fonseca in the 73rd minute of the match. Owen Hopker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terry Mayfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrew Wild fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Woodhall having to interfere. After some careless play in the Intrusive Thoughts defense, Terry Mayfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Owen Hopker. The Intrusive Thoughts fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Owen Hopker should have stopped the shot. After 82 minutes of play, Cheadle's Terry Mayfield made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Owen Hopker was left in no man's land by his defense there! Terry Mayfield blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Owen Hopker having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cheadle fully deserved thier win.
