In the 8th match minute, Gomersal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Husband to maneuver through the defense. Neil Deacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Romo having to interfere. After 12 minutes of play, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Eddie Wittingham made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mateo Romo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Gomersal AFC defense, Derek Findley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateo Romo. The Gomersal AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateo Romo should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the game, Derek Findley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Mateo Romo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd match minute, Gomersal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ty Dunlop to maneuver through the defense. After 24 minutes of play, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Tommy Boyce made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mateo Romo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mateo Romo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tommy Boyce went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute, Eddie Wittingham made a precise shot to the right of Mateo Romo. Gomersal AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Mateo Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil Deacon in the 33rd minute of the match. Eddie Wittingham scored 0-7 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateo Romo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateo Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Deacon in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Boyce in the 40th minute of play forced Gomersal AFC's goalkeeper Mateo Romo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateo Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Boyce in the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Lisburn Distillery F.C. getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tommy Boyce hit a great ball. Tommy Boyce took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tommy Boyce to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Gomersal AFC's Mateo Romo got control of the ball when Tommy Boyce tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Mateo Romo threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Neil Deacon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 61 minutes into the game, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Derek Findley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateo Romo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-9. In the 64th minute, Lisburn Distillery F.C.'s Eddie Wittingham dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10. Derek Findley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Mateo Romo made a huge save. Virgil Van took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-12. Neil Deacon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Mateo Romo made a huge save. Gomersal AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Tommy Boyce scored to the left of an out of position Mateo Romo, making the score, 0-15. Tommy Boyce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Mateo Romo made a huge save. Gara Wah blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mateo Romo having to make a save. In the 93rd minute Derek Findley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Gomersal AFC's William Husband got a free kick in the 99th minute.
