After 7 minutes Gomersal AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Terry Mayfield who took care of the corner kick. Jude Taylor charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jude Taylor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cheadle booed when Gomersal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jude Taylor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rhys Bibby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute, Ty Dunlop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Gomersal AFC defense, Bogdan Grindeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mateo Romo. The Gomersal AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mateo Romo should have stopped the shot. Mateo Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Mayfield in the 25th minute of the match. Glenn Taylor's late challenge caught a Cheadle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glenn Taylor helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cheadle booed when Gomersal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glenn Taylor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan da Fonseca took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Mateo Romo came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Cheadle's Rhys Bibby. But to his dismay, Rhys Bibby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 许俊鸿s short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Phillip Woodhall to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 许俊鸿 had several of the Cheadle's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Phillip Woodhall as he didn't even see the shot coming. Archie Vine kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41stth minute of the game Alan da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gomersal AFC's Mateo Romo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Terry Mayfield took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. In the 45th match minute, Gomersal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blair Neill to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Alan da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Terry Mayfield ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Romo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6.

The wind increased when Alan da Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Cheadle's Mateo Romo threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rhys Bibby, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Cheadle fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Cheadle's Terry Mayfield looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mateo Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Bibby, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Mateo Romo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Terry Mayfield in the 59th minute. Mateo Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Mayfield in the 62nd minute of the match. 许俊鸿 struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Phillip Woodhall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gomersal AFC. In the 66th minute Terry Mayfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 played minutes Gomersal AFC got a freekick which was hit by Blair Neill. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Rhys Bibby took a quick shot and it went in 1-9 without a chance for Mateo Romo to make any attempt to save it. Mateo Romo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Terry Mayfield went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-10 was the resulting score. In the 83rd match minute, Cheadle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glyn Boulton to maneuver through the defense. Alan da Fonseca came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mateo Romo could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Terry Mayfield kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mateo Romo. That made the score 1-12 in the 90 minute of play.
