In the 8th minute of the match Nobels IF got a corner. North Pole Kickers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivan Mancio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manfred Tunander got free with Folke Bure in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th match minute, North Pole Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Byström to maneuver through the defense. Manfred Tunander did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Folke Bure 20 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Dino Poljanić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villiam Tholsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvin Skager having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Nobels IF's Folke Bure threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manfred Tunander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Manfred Tunander was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. Nobels IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Manfred Tunander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nobels IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfred Tunander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folke Bure breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Jan Wallman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Mancio, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Nobels IF's Dino Poljanić got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45thth minute of the game Anders Byström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nobels IF's Arvin Skager was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Henrik Back hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manfred Tunander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the North Pole Kickers defense, Philip Rudkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Folke Bure. The North Pole Kickers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Folke Bure should have stopped the shot. North Pole Kickers's Peter Arvidsson was substituted for Henrik Back. In the 71st minute Philip Rudkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Bure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Villiam Tholsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Pole Kickers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Villiam Tholsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nobels IF's Arvin Skager played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Villiam Tholsson in the 90th minute of play. Nobels IF made a substitution. Emanuel Rydberg replaced Sven-Olof Askestät. North Pole Kickers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
